Scan and digitize your recipes
Take a photo of a recipe in a cookbook or magazine, or pick a screenshot, with the Treecipes app. The app reads the text on your phone, and the converter turns it into a clear recipe tree that you keep with all your other recipes.

What you can scan
Cookbook pages
Hold your phone over the page. On Android the app finds the edges of the page by itself.
Magazines and printouts
Recipes from magazines, newspapers or printed web pages work the same way.
Screenshots
Saved a recipe as a screenshot, for example from Instagram? Pick it from your gallery instead of taking a new photo.
Two limits: the app scans one page at a time, and it cannot read handwriting reliably yet. Printed recipes work best.
How to scan a recipe
-
Open the Treecipes app
Tap "Add" in the bottom bar and choose "Scan Recipe".
-
Take a photo or pick one
Photograph the page or choose a picture from your gallery. This works on iPhone and Android.
-
Check the text
The app shows the text it recognized. Fix anything it misread, then start the conversion.
-
Get your recipe tree
After about a minute the recipe opens as a tree. Adjust it to your taste and save it.

Digitize your recipe collection
Recipe already digital?
If your recipe is already on a website or in a document, there is nothing to scan. In the app you share the recipe page straight from the browser, and here on the web you paste the text into our converter.
