Data Deletion

At Treecipes, you have full control over your data. This page explains what personal data we store, how you can delete it, and what happens when you do.

1. Data You Can Delete Yourself

When logged in to your Treecipes account, you can delete the following data directly within the app or on the website:

Recipes

You can delete any recipe you have created. Navigate to the recipe page and use the delete option. Deleting a recipe permanently removes its content, associated images, ratings, and comments from our platform.

Comments

You can delete any comment you have posted. Navigate to the recipe where you left the comment and use the delete option on your comment.

Ratings and Favorites

You can remove your rating from any recipe by changing or clearing it on the recipe page. You can also remove recipes from your favorites at any time.

Profile Image

You can remove or change your profile image in your account settings.

2. Full Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your entire account from the account settings page. When you delete your account:

  • Your personal data (email address, username, name, profile image) is permanently removed.
  • Your ratings, favorites, and comments are deleted.
  • Your recipes remain on the platform but are anonymized — they are no longer associated with your account.
  • If you subscribed to our newsletter, you will be automatically unsubscribed.
  • Your authentication data is removed from our authentication provider (Supabase).

If you would like your recipes to be fully removed as well, please delete them individually before deleting your account.

3. Automatically Managed Data

The following data is managed automatically and does not require manual deletion:

  • Recipe view counts use hashed IP addresses that cannot be traced back to individual users. These are not linked to your account.
  • Rate-limiting data is temporary and automatically expires.

4. Can’t Log In or Need Help?

If you are unable to access your account and would like to request deletion of your data, please contact us at info@treecipes.com. Include the email address associated with your account so we can verify your identity and process your request.

We will respond to deletion requests within 30 days.
